Hickory Ski and Sports Center's Park Crew (Jake Schultz, Matt Ball and Steve Hopkins) just finished building and staging eight features creating Hickory's first ever Terrain Park.  The park area will officially open on Saturday January 23, 2010.  The Terrain Park has yet to be named but it is located on the lower part of the Snow Shoe Glade trail, with hopes of expansion onto the lower part of Cotton Tail.  The park is loaded with features for all abilities from beginners to experts.  The features that are currently offered in the Terrain Park are a 16 FOOT FLAT BOX, a PICNIC TABLE BOX / WALL RIDE, a
16 FOOT BATTLESHIP BOX, a 15 FOOT FLAT RAIL, a 4 FOOT UP TO A NINE FOOT DOWN FLAT RAIL, a 8 FOOT FLAT BOX, a 5 FOOT FLAT RAIL, a 5 FOOT CANON RAIL, a 20 FOOT BIRCH TREE RAINBOW RAIL and a BUNCH OF LITTLE JIBS.  There is no place like Hickory for a pure, natural variety of terrain and features.

A second "all natural" terrain park is currently being designed and built for Hickory's upcoming Heritage Weekend Lumber Jack Rail Jam on Sunday January 31st. The enterance fee is only $5.00 with a valid lift ticket.

Hickory Ski and Sports Center will be offering a season long special $20.00 T-Bar / Terrain Park Daily Lift Ticket for guests who only want to ski and/or ride in Hickory's Terrain Parks.
